In 2007 the quaint town of Vernonia (Home of the Logger's Jamboree) was inundated with flood waters from the local river; the project was to add flood protection and a face-lift to the grocery store.  All the walls, doorways, underground sanitary & storm sewers were involved; the walls waterproofed, the doorways fitted with removable aluminum stop-logs, the sewer connection fitted with backflow, stops & special valves.  A periodic drill is done to make sure all flood prevention equipment is in working order.  The system was needed when the waters rose in the town in Dec. 2015; all worked as planned.
